BIO
Estrada Márquez (Comarca Lagunera, 1995) focuses his practice on producing narratives that connect historical elements with possibilities rooted in speculation and storytelling, emphasizing the potential intersections between the archive and fiction. He explores the ideological dimension of film, video games, and other cultural products whose agency is expressed through the ongoing tensions between the United States and Mexico, as well as phenomena stemming from the rise of the far right and frictions resulting from operations carried out by the Global North, in the Global South, often working with time based media, objects –both physical and digital–, installation and photography.
He is an artist and sociologist and was part of the 2024 cohort of the SOMA Educational Program. His work has been exhibited both individually and collectively in Mexico, Germany, Argentina, the United States, and Italy. He has been a grantee of the “Jóvenes Creadores” program in the Alternative Media and Performance category (2025), awarded by the Sistema de Apoyos a la Creación y Producción Artística (SACPC, formerly FONCA), as well as “Jóvenes Creadores” in the Installation (2018) and Alternate Media (2025) cetegories, awarded by the Programa de Estímulo a la Creación y Desarrollo Artístico (PECDA). In 2024, he received an Honorable Mention at the XLIII Encuentro Nacional de Arte Joven.
