Latent destiny, 2020
Glitch, GIFs, lenticular prints.
I talked to far-right Americans about their favorite movies, all of those movies were about the war and its "manifest destiny." I grew up watching all those movies on the Mexican public streaming service after 9/11 and, as a kid, I was confused between Mexican nationalism and American nationalism; my mind was a glitch, just like my identity. “Latent destiny (or the latency of images)” is a short film that shows fragments of the most violent and beautiful scenes of those war movies intertwined with glitches among other poorly coded images.
